Probabilistic genotyping
To support evaluation of complex and low template DNA mixtures, the fully continuous model for LR-calculations has been introduced to GenoProof Mixture. In this model, algorithms simulate the peak heights of the DNA profile. To do so, they use biological parameters which characterize the DNA profile, depending on the settings of the analysis method. The user can perform calculations right away, without adjusting the model on the analysis environment.
The algorithm has been optimized to achieve fast calculation times, even on regular Desktop computers. To review the quality of the simulation, use the graphic convergence diagnostics and other quality parameters. The so-called convergence diagnostics helps you with adapting calculation parameters to the laboratory environment. GenoProof Mixture also comes with an extensive database of genetic reference data, considering ENFSI and ISFG guidelines. The user can extend the database with fast and simple import options.
