The 33rd Stain Workshop in association with the Stain Commision of the German Society of Legal Medicine takes places at the Martin Luther University in Halle (Saale) from 21st till 23rd February 2013. The event is hosted by the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Mediacal Faculty in Halle (Saale).

Over the intervening years the Stain Workshop has established itself as an important meeting place for forensic scientists. This year anew, Qualitype GmbH participates in the exhibition of the conference presenting forensic software of high quality and invites all visitors to come by for scientific exchange or open questions.

Since many years Qualitype AG has been closely cooperating with the University of Applied Science Mittweida. On that account, Qualitype AG also participated on this year’s 14th Day of Information Science at the University of Applied Science in Mittweida enabling students of informatics, business informatics, biotechnology and bioinformatics to gain insight into the everyday work in a midsized software company. Moreover, the workshop “DNA analysis” took place for prospective biotechnologists and bioinformation scientists, conducted by board director Dr. Frank Götz.

The "Workshop on DNA Typing of Bone Samples" takes place in Prague, Czech Republic from 3th till 6th October. Once again this year the Forensic DNA Service "Archeosteon", an archaeogenetic laboratory, has invited considerable experts from all over the world to inform, discuss and share knowledge about current topics in the field of DNA analysis. Within this scope, Dr. Götz, Managing Director of Qualitype AG, is going to be one of the speakers at the workshop.

With his discourse "Pharaohs on the track – Genetic analysis of the Tutankhamun family" he is going to provide an insight into the work of the DNA analysis with GenoProof, the well-known and established evaluation software for parentage expertise.
